Erica Charters

Erika is a continual student of mindful movement and energetic studies. She began her training as a dancer where she encountered the numerous benefits of Pilates and Yoga on her physical and mental wellbeing. This was the grounding that inspired her to begin teaching and continues to fuel her passion of sharing the joy of movement with others. Erika first trained in Barre and STOTT Pilates before expanding her journey through her Yoga trainings with Mollie Morris, Ganga Devi and Sarah Lo. Erika has also studied deeper into functional movement and training with Gary Ward (AiM) and somatic movement with Martha Peterson. Mindfulness is a thread that has run through all of Erika’s trainings and anchors her classes to be delivered in a clear, calm and compassionate way encouraging you to connect to a deeper sense of acceptance with yourself and yet still challenge yourself to grow in areas open to you.

Pilates

 

Erika’s class interweave both traditional Pilates with other mindful movement styles including Somatics, AiM and Yoga to create a class that both flows but also allows you to hone in on specific areas, explore your mobility, flexibility and strength. The class is designed for you to meet yourself where you are each session, may that be with more energy and challenge or a softer and releasing quality. This Yin Yang quality runs through all classes with a creative, playful edge so you can enjoy connecting with your body, mind and soul!
