John Slade
John took his first yoga class in the Philippines over 15 years ago. Since then, he has studied with some of the world’s leading yoga practitioners, all of whom have influenced his own teaching. He draws upon many modalities in his classes ranging from Vinyasa Flow to Hatha to Yin and continues his studentship with his main teachers Charlie Merton, Lizzie Reumont and others. He is a graduate of the 200hr teacher training course at Yogacampus.
Inclusivity and creating a safe yoga space are integral to John’s teaching ethos. Everyone is welcome and John encourages authenticity and connection between all in the studio. John’s classes offer yogic wisdom and philosophy with an emphasis on how this can be put into practice off the mat. He also emphasises the importance of breathwork and meditation as part of the yoga system.
John has worked extensively as a mover and performer since graduating from the BA course at Trinity Laban. His work in somatic based techniques such as Skinner Releasing Technique, Laban Movement Analysis and Bartenieff Movement Fundamentals continue to impact his work.
